Happy Canada Day. There's something fitting about a marketplace built for Canadian neighbourhoods landing on your home screen on the first of July.

The ShopBroker Android app is here, live in open beta. Safe, local buying and selling now fits in your pocket, and we'd love for you to be one of the very first to try it.

If you already use ShopBroker on the web, this is the same marketplace you know, just a lot easier to carry around. List the couch that's been hogging the garage, snap photos of that old camera the second you dig it out, check on a sale while you're on the bus. The whole thing now fits in your hand.

Now, a bit of honesty: this is an early build, so you'll hit a few rough edges. That's the whole point of an open beta. You get in early, you tell us what feels clunky, and what you say shapes what we build next. The folks who show up now are the ones who get to leave their mark on it.

Want in? Tap the button below to open our beta page, then tap through to Google Play with your Google account. It's free, and the whole thing takes about a minute.

What you get with the ShopBroker app

ShopBroker is your neighbourhood marketplace, built so a local sale feels safe from the first tap to the last. Here's what comes along for the ride.

Four ShopBroker app features: local buying and selling, protected payments, same-day courier, price help
  • Buy and sell right in your neighbourhood. Browse listings near you, message a seller, and make a deal, all from your phone.
  • Protected payments, so nobody's paying on a promise. When a buyer checks out, their payment is secured on the spot. Their card isn't charged until the item's delivered, so the money's real before anyone moves. Sell through Stripe or PayPal, whichever you like.
  • Same-day courier delivery across the GTA. For high-value items that fit in a microwave-sized box and weigh up to 35 lbs, a Trexity courier handles pickup and dropoff, usually same day. Think cameras, watches, MacBooks, game consoles. Door to door, no parking-lot meetup.
  • Price help when you're not sure. Stuck on what something's worth? Price Genius gives you a smart, AI-backed suggestion based on what similar items go for locally.

Everything you can do on the website, you can now do from the couch.

How to join the Android beta

Three steps to join the ShopBroker Android beta: open the beta page, join on Google Play, open the app

It's a beta, so tell us what you think

This is an early build, and we really mean that. Some corners will feel polished, and some won't yet. If you hit a snag, spot a bug, or just have a better idea, we want to hear it. Reach us right from the app or through support, and a real person, not a bot, will read every word.

Honestly, early feedback is how this app gets good. The people who join now are the ones who get to shape what it becomes.

Your feedback actually goes somewhere. Every bug report and idea from beta members helps us decide what to fix first and what to build next. You're not shouting into the void.

On an iPhone? iOS is next

The iOS beta is in the works, so if you're on an iPhone, you're not sitting this one out for long. Head to that same beta page, drop your email on the waitlist, and we'll give you a shout the moment it opens.

Rather skip the app for now? ShopBroker on the web runs on any phone, no install needed. The app just makes the whole thing smoother.

Get the app and help us build it

So that's the invite. The ShopBroker Android app is live, it's free to join, and what you tell us genuinely shapes where it goes next. Grab it, list something you've been meaning to move, and let us know how it feels.
